The web for me is a hobby where standards and best practices are daily bread. Security is a concern that everybody must be aware of its details for IT in general, and the web in particular, to be a safer place. My life, on the other hand, is that of a regular Lebanese citizen where politics and social issues are discussed on a daily basis. Lebanese Security?!

I really don't know where this entry should go. Should it be under Security (a topic that I prefer and that is still empty for the time being on my blog or under Politics where it really should be?)

The whole story is related to what happened during the past few days here in Beirut. This story is a complete mapping of what happens every day in Lebanon when politics is taken into consideration and when players fall and others rise.

Said El-Khoury

Today, Said El-Khoury, a dear friend and relative died from Cancer. Said was well-known for his optimism and ongoing struggle for a better life. I dedicate this small space on the web to Said and I pray that his soul rests in peace. (More)

Why Linux?

Linux happens to be my favourite Server Operating System. Why as a server? Simply because Microsoft Windows is still, by far, the best Personal Operating System for a PC. There are major advantages and disadvantages for Linux and Windows and this category is dedicated to list them and explain each and every one of them.

As a teacher at a University, I am always faced with the same question: Why do you dislike Microsoft Windows? Well, I don't dislike Microsoft Windows. I like Microsoft Windows for the personal PC's, I dislike Microsoft Windows for servers. On the other hand, I like Linux for Servers and I tend to like Linux for PC's as well but I still use Microsoft Windows up to this moment on my PC.

El-Hariri's Assasination

11 days ago, the Ex-Prime Minister of Lebanon, Mr. Rafic Hariri died in a car explosion in the center of Beirut (the city that he rebuilt after 20 years of Lebanese war). This is just a salut to Mr. Hariri with respect for being another Martyr (although a major one) for Lebanon.

Today, I decided to take 30 minutes out of my busy days to setup what I think will be a major contribution factor to my life.
This blog, as I see it, is not meant simply to be a place to talk and type. It will be my daily runaway from daily life boring issues to do something that I consider great: sharing knowledge with the world.
