Victor's Blog about the Web, Security and Life

The web for me is a hobby where standards and best practices are daily bread. Security is a concern that everybody must be aware of its details for IT in general, and the web in particular, to be a safer place. My life, on the other hand, is that of a regular Lebanese citizen where politics and social issues are discussed on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and make sure to drop me a comment about any topic you find interesting.

Two months ago, Lebanon started facing a security crisis when many explosions started taking place since the assassination of Mr. Rafic El-Hariri. One month after the assassination, Mr. Elias El-Mur, during a TV interview, asked "Where did the Fouhoud go?" A question that was and is still un-answered clearly. The Fouhoud are a group of security professionals that work for the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They are well recognized for their black jeeps with their famous red logo.

What was surprising enough though, was that at the night of the new government being re-elected, and when Mr. Elias El-Mur was actually being re-appointed as the Minister of Defense and Mr. Hassan El-Sabe' was being appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs; and while I was driving back home around midnight, I saw many Fouhoud jeeps starting to take monitoring places along the road from and to Beirut.

The question, up till this point, remains un-answered:

Where did the Fouhoud Go?!
