Victor's Blog about the Web, Security and Life

The web for me is a hobby where standards and best practices are daily bread. Security is a concern that everybody must be aware of its details for IT in general, and the web in particular, to be a safer place. My life, on the other hand, is that of a regular Lebanese citizen where politics and social issues are discussed on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy reading my blog and make sure to drop me a comment about any topic you find interesting.

What will Google Wave's primary power be in? Will it be Social Networking and thus competing with Facebook or will it be Cloud Computing and thus computing with Microsoft Live and Yahoo? Just a note for anyone reading this and willing to give his / her opinion.

Why not?

I just received a google wave invitation and will finally start to check it out and will be able to update this discussion as things happen.

As for Google passport, why not? Don't the majority of people have an MSN Passport? Was it by coincidence called as such?

Using your MSN / Live Passport, you are being able to visit many websites, purchase from vendors, participate in e-communities, etc. What still lacks is a legal authorization that attaches your MSN Passport identity to your Legal identity and, voila, you will be able to travel through MSN passports lol

Actually, your MSN passport has more information about you (habits, credit history, conversations, etc.) than your Lebanese passport has. Weird, eh?

Google wave redefines communication means within the given means of todays flexibility of technology.
previous technologies were limited either technically or by human or operational domain.

today as everything is interconnected thru multiprotocol gateways, this brings more flexibility of defining more ergonomic methods of communication and its ecosystem.

google wave still lacks many features to cover all the added value of older communication mediums. by time this probably will be covered and will yeld a single centrelized communication interface.

another dilema that arises is for such a concept to function, this would require a centralized directory of users, in more specific terms, a meta directory.

so as you can see, google wave is still in its infancy with both good and bad potential abilities. the definition of openness is yet to be seen as what google means and defines by that.
only time will really tell.

I for one would hate for a commercial company to have me more profiled and categorized than my own goverment!

next we will be carrying google passports?
